Ito City is renowned as a hot spring town, boasting one of Japan's highest output volumes. It also holds historical significance, having been presented to Tokugawa Iemitsu as a therapeutic hot spring during the Edo period. Alongside its traditional hot spring district, the town features numerous public bathhouses for hot spring hopping and day-trip spas, enveloping the entire area in its hot spring culture. Properties with their own hot spring facilities allow residents to indulge in luxurious bathing experiences at home, gently soothing the fatigue of daily life.

Ito City is a thriving fishing region where you can fully enjoy the bounty of the sea, including red seabream, horse mackerel, whitebait, turban shells, and spiny lobster. Not only the fish, but also the vegetables and meat are fresh, and numerous recommended restaurants utilising local ingredients are scattered throughout the area.

Leisure activities are also plentiful, with diving hotspots such as Futo and Jōgasaki, and Usami where surfing and sea fishing can be enjoyed year-round.
